Description of the Workshop and Coaching Session
Through its advocacy work for libraries, the TELL project will organise a Workshop and Coaching-Mentoring Session on the role of libraries as centres for AI education, innovation, democracy, knowledge, and sustainable development.
The programme will address freedom of expression, access to information, and democratic participation within the framework of the 2023 Council of Europe Recommendation on Library Legislation and Policy. It will also examine Agenda 2030 and how library services can support the Sustainable Development Goals, social inclusion, education, and community development.
A further part will focus on the funding, modernisation, and new responsibilities of European libraries. Participants will receive information and practical guidance on funding opportunities through the Greek National Strategic Reference Framework, the Recovery and Resilience Facility, and European programmes such as Erasmus+, CERV, Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, and Digital Europe.
The Workshop and Coaching-Mentoring Session will be addressed to senior library professionals and other people who can influence policy and institutional decisions. Participants will include, amongst others, library directors, head librarians, senior library staff, teachers, education professionals, municipal and university administrators, Directors of Culture, public officials, policy-makers, and people responsible for library governance or European funding.
The aim will be to strengthen cooperation between libraries and decision-makers, promote the Council of Europe Recommendation, and help participants connect library priorities with national and European funding opportunities.
About the TELL – TRANS-EUROPEAN LEARNING LIBRARIES Project
The TELL – TRANS-EUROPEAN LEARNING LIBRARIES project brings together eight partners from seven countries to develop a successful educational model in promoting the Council of Europe Recommendation on Library Legislation and Policy throughout Europe and library financing through the European Structural and Investment Funds. The initiative includes the creation of an innovative curriculum, the organization of two Winter schools and the implementation of a Road Map to the inclusion of libraries in the European Structural and Investment Funds 2028-2035, all addressing the needs of both librarians and their communities.
